Representatives of University of Bergen visited School of Oceanography

On October 21st ,2019, representatives from University of Bergen (UiB), including Vice Rector for Global Relations Annelin Eriksen, Deputy Director General for the Division of Research and Innovation Benedicte Løseth, International Coordinator at the University of Bergen Nedelina Naydenova, Research Coordinator at the University of Berge Kristin Svartveit, Adviser of the Norwegian China Law Centre, the Faculty of Law Maria Holme Lidal, Adviser at the Department of Biological Sciences Susanna Pakkesmaa and ect., visited School of Oceanography at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Dean of School of Oceanography (SOO) Meng Zhou, associate dean of SOO Bingxue Tian, associate professor Zhaoru Zhang, Hailong Liu, Yonghui Gao, Jian Ma, secretary for teaching affairs Yijia Wang, and secretary of foreign affairs Jie Wen attended the meeting.

 

Dean Meng Zhou introduced SOO from aspects of history, composition of faculty and students, research directions and future construction plan. Afterwards, Vice Rector for Global Relations at UiB Annelin Eriksen shortly presented information about University of Bergen. The University of Bergen (UiB) is an internationally recognized research universityand is the most cited university in Norway. Among its more than 18 000 students, around 2 000 of them are international students.

During the meeting, the two parties explored scientific research project cooperation, international visiting scholars, students’ exchange program, international summer courses and so on repeatedly, confirmed the intention of further cooperation and the contactors of both parties to coordinate the following project progress, MOU signing and other series of work.
