On March 15th, 2023, the SOO held an Information Session on Global Student Exchange Program at Mulan Building Student Innovation Center, Minhang Campus.
The Information Session invited Ms. Jia Ziyi from SJTU International Affairs Division and Ms. Tan Yuanyuan from University of California, San Diego (Extension) to give SOO students detailed introductions on various global students exchange programs.
Ms. Jia introduced SJTU’s global exchange programs as well as program requirements. Considering SOO students’ requirements, she gave a detailed presentation on projects related to marine science. As SJTU students' interest in global study is increasing, she encouraged those who have plans to study abroad to plan in advance.
Ms. Tan introduced UCSD Extension’s 2023 Summer and Fall programs for international students. The Scripps Institute of Oceanography (SIO), University of California, San Diego, has a strong foundation on oceanographic research and offers a variety of Marine Science courses for students to choose from. According the Ms. Tan, the UCSD’s Oceanography Subject ranks 1st in the US.
The students interacted with both guest speakers after the Information Session.
This information session enabled SOO students to gain more knowledge about different global exchange programs, and helped them to better plan oversea studies in advance.
